Overview
Completing KYC/KYB and requesting a virtual account are two separate processes. Passing KYC/KYB verifies your identity or business — it does not automatically approve you for a virtual account. Virtual account requests go through an additional compliance review, which may require extra documentation before approval.Where to Request a Virtual Account
Once your KYC (individual) or KYB (business) verification is complete, a Create USD Account option appears in the Banking section of the app. Tapping it starts the virtual account request.Eligibility / Preconditions
- Your KYC or KYB verification must be complete and approved.
- Your country must not be on the prohibited countries list. See Supported Countries for the current list.
Customers in prohibited countries cannot access a virtual account (USD account), but can still send and receive funds using a base wallet. A virtual account is a separate, additional product on top of base wallet access — restrictions on one don’t necessarily restrict the other.
Requesting a virtual account requires completing a questionnaire, including a Source of funds document upload.
Additional Information Requested by Compliance
If compliance needs more detail to verify the source of your funds, they’ll follow up by email requesting an updated Source of Funds document. This is a normal part of the review — not a rejection. The request explains what’s needed and why: an updated document is required to keep the account in good standing with compliance requirements, and it should clearly show the transactions and financial activity behind the funds expected to move through the account.Required Supporting Documents
Any one of the following is accepted as a Source of Funds document:- Bank statements (last 3 months)
- Audited financial statements
- Tax returns / annual tax filings
- Contracts or invoices
The document must be in your name and must clearly show the transactions and financial activity behind the funds you’re expecting to move through your account.
Bank Statement Recency Requirement
If submitting bank statements, they must cover the last 3 months. Older statements won’t satisfy the requirement and will result in another follow-up request. How to Upload / Submit Documents
- During the questionnaire: use the Source of funds document upload field — click or drag a file to upload.
- If compliance follows up by email: reply directly to the same email thread with the document attached. Compliance reviews documents sent as a reply to their original request.
Submitting the Application
Once the questionnaire is complete and any required documents are attached, submit the request for review.Review / Approval Status
After submission, the request goes to the compliance team for review. You’ll be notified of the outcome — approved, or if more information is needed. What Happens If More Information Is Required
If compliance can’t approve the request with what’s been submitted, they’ll email you directly requesting the missing or updated document(s). Reply to that same email with the requested document(s) whenever you get a chance, and reach out if you have any questions.Prohibited Countries
Customers based in a prohibited country cannot be issued a virtual account. See the full Supported Countries List to check whether this applies to a given customer.Being in a prohibited country only restricts virtual account access — it does not prevent using a base wallet to transfer funds.
