Overview

This guide walks through registering a business account on Devdraft, from choosing a sign-up method through the point where you’re prompted to begin verification. It covers registration only; document submission for business verification (KYB) is a separate stage, covered in Submitting KYB Documents.

This guide does not list KYB document requirements. Which documents are requested depends on your country, business structure, and current compliance rules, always follow what’s shown in the live verification flow rather than a fixed checklist.

What You Need Before You Start

Step 1 — Choose a Sign-Up Method

From the welcome screen, select Sign up, then choose how you’d like to sign up: Enter your email address and select Continue.
Double-check the email address for typos before continuing — a mistake here can prevent the verification code from arriving.

Step 2 — Verify Your Email

Enter the six-digit code sent to your email, then select Continue. If the code doesn’t arrive, check spam/junk/promotions folders before using Didn’t receive code? to request a new one — and always use the newest code if more than one was sent.

Step 3 — Create a Password

Enter and confirm a password that is at least 8 characters and includes both uppercase and lowercase letters. Both fields must match.
Use a password unique to Devdraft, ideally from a password manager — don’t reuse a password from another service or one based on the business name.

Step 4 — Select the Entity Type

Choose between:
  • Personal account
  • Business account
Select Business account to continue with business onboarding.

Step 5 — Enter Business Details

Complete the Set up your business screen: Select Finish once complete.
Keep the business name and country consistent with your official records — these carry through to the verification stage.

Step 6 — Verify Your Phone Number (or Skip)

Enter your phone number with the correct country code, then either:
  • Continue — request and enter an SMS code to verify now, or
  • Skip for now — defer verification and continue to the next step
Phone verification may be required for certain features depending on current requirements shown in the app. If you skip it, treat it as outstanding — it may be requested again before you can use certain account or banking features.

Step 7 — Choose and Claim a Business Tag

A tag is a short handle others can use to send you money without needing your email address. Enter a tag starting with @. A green Available confirmation appears if it passes validation, then select Claim tag. If it’s taken, try one of your prepared alternatives. A Skip for now option is also available, but the tag remains unclaimed until you set one later.

Step 8 — Registration Complete & Begin Verification

Devdraft displays Registration Complete, introducing the virtual account options (e.g. USD, EUR, GBP, NGN) available once verification is complete.
You need to complete business verification to access virtual accounts and use banking features. Reaching Registration Complete does not mean verification is done.
A Verify button appears next to the account area — select it to begin the verification stage. See Submitting KYB Documents for what comes next.

Privacy and Security Reminders

  • Keep your email password, Devdraft password, and any OTPs/SMS codes confidential — Devdraft should never ask you to disclose a one-time code or your full password.
  • Only submit documents or codes through the official Devdraft app or an official support channel — never through an unexpected personal email or messaging account.
