# Verification Statuses

> Understand your verification status, what each one means, and how long the review process takes.

## Verification Levels

Before you can send or receive funds, you need to complete identity verification. There are two levels depending on your country:

* **KYC Standard** is the default. It is automated and typically completes in about **60 seconds**.
* **KYC Enhanced** is required if you are from a high-risk country. It includes everything from KYC Standard plus additional documentation. Your submission will be manually reviewed by our compliance team and can take up to **1 business day**.

## Your Verification Status

Once you submit your information, you will be assigned one of the following statuses:

| Status               | What it means                                                                                                                                               |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `verifying`          | Your verification is being processed. This is the starting status for every submission.                                                                     |
| `approved`           | Your identity has been verified. You can now send and receive funds.                                                                                        |
| `rejected`           | Your verification was unsuccessful. You will need to start a new submission with corrected information.                                                     |
| `compliance_request` | Our compliance team has opened a Request for Information (RFI) and is waiting for additional documents or clarifications from you. Please respond promptly. |

### How statuses update

* **KYC Standard**: after \~60 seconds your status typically becomes `approved` or `rejected` automatically. When our compliance team needs to review manually, it stays `verifying` until they decide.
* **KYC Enhanced & KYB Standard**: always require manual review, so your status stays `verifying` until review completes.

  If your verification is rejected, you will need to start a brand new submission with corrected information. You cannot update an existing submission. Feedback on what to correct will be provided in the rejection details.

## How Long Does It Take?

| ----------------- | ------------------------- |
| KYC Standard      | \~60 seconds              |
| KYC Enhanced      | 3 hours to 1 business day |
| KYB Standard      | 3 hours to 1 business day |
